A Message from the CEO

Changing the Look but not the Love & Compassion of FCWS

First Coast Women’s Services has been serving our community for over twenty-eight years and we are still serving it strongly. However, FCWS is in a season of new beginnings and changes. We are happy to announce our Tele-health Center began operation on November 15th. Calls from our on-line advertising are now routed to our Call Center, manned by trained Telehealth Schedulers and Registered Nurses. We are having good success in connecting with abortion-minded clients as they have an initial visit with a trained medical professional. “Quick and easy” is the expectation of the millennial and GenZ generations. Our Telehealth Center meets the clients’ needs of medical accuracy with urgency combined with continued care and compassion. After the telehealth visit with an RN, clients are scheduled for a same-day ultrasound in our center closest to them, or followed-up on for the short time until they are at 6-weeks gestation when an ultrasound can be performed. This new procedure has been successful with other pregnancy resource ministries in holding the clients until they can see the baby on ultrasound. That is still the most crucial factor in changing the heart and mind of an abortion-minded woman to choose LIFE.

Along with the launch of our Telehealth Center, we are also changing our FCWS logo to a more medical brand and look. In their desperate situation, clients are looking for a clinic. We have the clinical care they need including a lab-grade pregnancy test, telehealth visit with an RN, and an ultrasound performed by a sonographer and then read by one of our five obstetrical medical doctors. We are committed to helping them slow down and realize that they do have other options. We are committed to loving them with the love of Jesus Christ and showing them compassion. We are committed to walking with them as they make complex decisions. But we cannot do any of these things unless they come to us before they go to the abortion clinic.

We are very excited as we move forward with the changes we feel that the Lord has led us to make. What has not changed, and never will, is the love and compassion that we extend to each of our clients. We love them because our Lord Jesus first loved us and gave His life for us. We always look for the opportunity to share that truth with each client. We hope that you will share in our excitement and pray for these new changes. We could not continue without your support!

Joyfully serving,

Judy Weber, CEO

Client Story

Overcoming Fear

An abortion-minded military veteran suffering from PTSD walked into our center. Our volunteers and staff met her with compassion and hope, still acknowledging that the trauma of abortion could compound the symptoms of her PTSD. While going through the Option Boxes, the Client burst into tears and ran to the bathroom. An ultrasound was scheduled, but there was slim hope that she would choose life or show up for the appointment. Thankfully, she did show up for her ultrasound appointment. As the sonographer performed the ultrasound, the ribs of the baby, the feet, the eye sockets, and even the tips of the little fingers were all so evidently clear. The heartbeat was strong. The client was 20 weeks (about 4 and a half months) pregnant with an energetic baby and we were all in awe of this child. The client decided right then with the support of her boyfriend that she wanted to have this baby. Despite all her fears, she signed up for the earn while you learn program. Both mom and dad are now extremely excited as they have totally accepted their role as parents.
