Chosen to Live

I was chosen to live.

I had no idea until I was 17 years old and my Mom shared this part of her story during a sermon.

Now I can praise God because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and the good thing about it is that my soul knows it very well! (see Psalm 139:14).

Recently, our lead pastor came up with this question, which resonated with me while I was writing my story, and I pray it will do the same with you. “How well do you know you”?

I grew up in a home where my mom was a believer in Christ Jesus, and she still is to this day. My dad, on the other hand, was not, although he accepted Christ 10 months before he departed to spend eternity with Jesus! After my three older siblings were born, a financial crisis arose in our family. My dad struggled to handle the situation.

When my mom became pregnant with me during this difficult financial time, my dad in his desperation tried to talk my mom into having an abortion. Praise God, my mom knew that God had a different plan in mind, and she chose life!

Now I KNOW why I am here writing this message!

I don’t know what kind of circumstances you’re living in or what kind of decisions you are struggling with, but respectfully and lovingly I’d like to encourage you to pause, pray, and believe that our Heavenly Father has a perfect and beautiful plan! And His plan already has a name and a purpose!

Jeremiah 1:5 says: “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born, I set you apart…”

Your decision already has a name and a purpose… My mom decision’s name is Me!

My name is Juan Manuel Sanchez. I have a beautiful wife, Priscilla. God has blessed us with three handsome boys; Ianseth (14), Khalil (12), and our “extra gift” from heaven; Mikael (3). Currently, I have the privilege to serve on Staff at Church on the Rock Ministries, alongside our Lead Pastors, Josh & Lauren Hersey.  As a church, we get to partner with amazing organizations like First Coast Women’s Services, and we believe in their mission for LIFE!
