News from Judy Weber, CEO

“Give us the ears to hear Your voice, a mind to understand it, and the faith to obey.”

At First Coast Women’s Services, we have begun this year with more excitement and anticipation than in all of the fourteen years that I have served as CEO. We are rejoicing over the growth we have seen in the ministry, and the revealed truth that the Lord has honored and blessed all the work of our hands, even during a pandemic and a change of national leadership. I believe this is true because of the Godly Board of Directors the Lord has brought to us and their leaning into Him in prayer for every decision.

Our Board is currently meeting every two weeks to pray for vision and direction for the future. Our prayer has been, “Give us the ears to hear Your voice, a mind to understand it, and the faith to obey.” We are dreaming BIG dreams and becoming increasingly excited! We are more committed than ever to being used by God to end abortion in NE Florida in our lifetime. With that as our main objective, we have developed a new Strategic Plan for the next three years which will keep us on track.

We believe that we need to focus on prevention, intervention and restoration. Intervention still needs to be our biggest focus. If an abortion-minded woman comes to us first, 83% of the time she will choose LIFE!

  • We need her to find us by a stronger on-line presence, and make it easy for her to connect.
  • We may need a new FCWS Center near the biggest colleges and a smaller, newer Mobile Center to have better access to college students.
  • We need our own Call Center to better handle the abortion-minded woman when she calls, and perhaps make it possible for her to speak with an RN for her first virtual visit.
  • We are feeling called into the area of prevention. Over 85% of all women who have abortions are single. Having worked for years in Project SOS, I know that an effective Sexual Risk Avoidance Program for middle and high school students can bring down the number of teen pregnancies and, therefore, abortions. This is lacking in our schools and in our churches.
  • When it comes to restoring those who have been hurt by experiencing an abortion in the past, we need to expand our Abortion Healing Assistance program. Statistics tell us that one in four American women will have had an abortion by the age of 45, whether Christians or not. Many of our current clients have already had at least one abortion. If we can help that client find healing through Jesus Christ from her previous abortion, we can restore her to the Lord and cancel future abortions.

All three of these areas: prevention, intervention and restoration from abortion will pit us against the enemy of Life, but Christ has already overcome him. I have given you just a few of the ideas we are considering, but we need your prayers. There are many “good” things we could do, but we are seeking God’s “best” things. You have been our strong supporters over so many years, and I am very thankful for you, but we need you now more than ever. Please stand with us as we wrestle for the lives and souls God has created in NE Florida to be protected and given the opportunity to know Him.

Joyfully Serving,
Judy
